Founder • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
A psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience, focused on individualized, practical, solution-focused care for depression, anxiety, and more.
Rosa Smith, MSN, FNP-BC, PMHNP, is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in mental health. She is the founder of Sunshine Psychiatry in Fort Myers, Florida. Born in South America, Rosa lived in Piura, Peru, before immigrating to the United States in 1990. She is fluent in both Spanish and English and has broad experience using various treatment modalities.
Rosa believes offering individualized care based on the client’s needs, concerns, and preferences is important. This includes an interactive, practical, solution-focused approach to help clients resolve current challenges such as depression and anxiety.
Rosa founded Sunshine Psychiatry after witnessing the disparity in psychiatric care—where many practices valued quantity over quality and visits felt rushed. Tracy Dzugan, MSN, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Over 30 years in Internal Medicine and 10 years in Psychiatry—known for patient education, clarity, and compassionate care.
Tracy Dzugan is a compassionate member of Sunshine Psychiatry. Tracy has over 30 years of experience in Internal Medicine and 10 years of experience in Psychiatry, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She works with patients from all age groups.
Tracy received her MSN from Mount Carmel College of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio and received her PMHNP Post Master’s Certificate from Regis College, Weston, MA. Tracy has an additional master’s degree in teaching and loves educating and helping her clients.
Neesha Nicklaus, MSN, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Comprehensive psychiatric care with a focus on quality of life—experienced in dual-diagnosis treatment and collaborative care.
Neesha Nicklaus, MSN, PMHNP-BC has proven herself to be an incredible provider for Sunshine Psychiatry. She moved to Florida in 2021, having been born and raised in Illinois. She received her nursing degree from the Mennonite College of Nursing and her BSN from Illinois State University.
Neesha received her MSN and Post Graduate Degree as a PMHNP from St. Thomas University, Miami, FL. Her primary focus is on helping people obtain the quality of life we all deserve. She develops personalized care plans, analyzes patient data, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes.
She has years of experience treating dual-diagnosis patients and also works at the New Seasons O/P MAT Program in Port Charlotte. Neesha has additional experience as Director of Nursing at ATA College, Fort Myers, and traveled extensively during the Pandemic as part of a rapid response team for disasters. Sunshine Psychiatry is proud to have Neesha on board.
David Smith
Practice Manager & COO • Certified Life Coach
The first person many patients meet—known for excellent communication, professionalism, and making the process feel easy.
David is the Practice Manager and COO of Sunshine Psychiatry. He was born in Pennsylvania and brings a variety of experiences to the practice. David is a Veteran and served in the U.S. Navy for 9 years, worked for the PA Department of Corrections, is a certified PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, and was a volunteer firefighter/EMT.
He speaks fluent English and an intermediate level of Spanish. David has successfully started and run three businesses and is a valued asset to the clinic. His excellent communication skills and experience support a welcoming patient experience.
Rosita Smith
Office Manager
Business Administration (minor in IT), known for keeping everything organized and welcoming—so care feels seamless.
Rosita moved to Florida in 2015 and graduated from Pensacola Christian College in 2024, obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in IT. Rosita loves spending time with her fur baby, Koda (a Bernadoodle), her friends, and being at the beach.
Clara Smith
Office Assistant
A warm, professional presence with excellent attention to detail—helping patients feel supported from the first call.
Clara is the Office Assistant at Sunshine Psychiatry. She graduated from Gateway High School and will be attending college for a BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in entrepreneurism. Her pleasant voice and demeanor are a valued part of the team, and her attention to detail is an added strength.
Marjorie Macias
Hispanic Liaison • Life Coach
A trusted liaison for Spanish-speaking patients and a key part of day-to-day operations—supporting care with excellence.
Marjorie Macias plays an integral part of Sunshine Psychiatry. She supports the office as an assistant to the Office Manager and serves as a liaison with our valued Hispanic clients. She was born and raised in Ecuador.
Marjorie obtained her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Universidad Technological Empresarial de Guayaquil. She also received master’s degrees from the Universidad de Barcelona in leadership and coaching. She brings over 20+ years of experience in company operations to facilitate the smooth running of our office as we continue to grow.
Marjorie has two children, one living here in the US with her husband and one living in Ecuador with her granddaughter.
